Ron and Caryl McAdoo (actually Caryl : ) wanted one of their many fiction novels to market along with the two non-fiction books the Republic of Texas Press published. So, in March of 2000, the couple set to editing THE CHIEF OF SINNERS, the book they considered to be their 'great American novel'.

During this time, they were accepted as clients of a New York agent who wanted to read the novel after Doris Booth of Authorlink had requested the manuscript. Their agent loved the novel and asked, "Please don't publish it yourselves! Let me have a chance to sell it to New York."

So, at the last minute, they switched and published THE THIEF OF DREAMS instead. It debuted at the Texas/Oklahoma fair in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 11, 2001.

Then came CHUTE #3 by friend and colleague Mackey Murdock released in September 2002. They loved the Texas panhandle setting and took bronc-bustin', Vietnam vet protagonist Guthrie Sawyer to heart. A great read. Since the McAdoos have twelve grandchildren, Caryl kept at Ron about a children's book. (They say he's the story, she's the style of their writing collaboration.)

After inheriting a herd of quarter horses, including a bottle-fed orphan colt, inspiration hit O'Pa (Ron) and Grami (Caryl) got her wish again when they released THE ADVENTURES OF SERGEANT SOCKS book one THE JOURNEY HOME in September 2003, launching their new River Bottom Ranch Stories series for children.

Next, DFW Writers' Workshop friend Tricia Allen agreed to write a chapter book especially for LPC, THE CHILDREN UNDER THE PLAYHOUSE which debuts September 2004 along with the McAdoo's THE ADVENTURES OF SERGEANT SOCKS book two THE BRAVEST HEART.

Titles planned for 2005 release include THE LEGEND OF RED LEAF by Don Watson, SIMMERING SECRETS OF WEEPING MARY, a Deuteronomy Devilrow Mystery by Merry Hassle Frels (both children's chapter books) THE ADVENTURES OF SERGEANT SOCKS book three STRAIGHT AND TRUE, and AMAZING GRACI AND THE RIVER BOTTOM GOATS, which are two new River Bottom Ranch Stories for the McAdoos' children's series. Two grown-up novels, BLOOD AVENGER by Julian Stewart Haber and THE PRICE PAID by Ron and Caryl McAdoo are also coming soon.
